Merry Christmas and Happy New Year wishes Department of Historical Bibliography
The 17th Conference Archives, Libraries, Museums in the Digital World
From 30. 11. to 1. 12. 2016 the 17th Conference Archives, Libraries, Museums in the Digital World was held at the conference hall of the National Archive in Prague. Václava Horčáková and Petr Štefan presented the Union catalogue Bibliography of the Czech and Slovak historiography - one of results of the Project Bibliography of the History of the Czech Lands.
Visit of students of the Faculty of Education at the Charles University in Prague in the Institute of History of the CAS
21. 11. 2016 the group of students of history from the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, visited the Institute of History of the CAS. Václava Horčáková, head of the department of historical bibliography, presented the Library of the Institute of History and searching in the databases Bibliography of the History of the Czech Lands and the Union Catalogue of the Czech and Slovak historiography.
Meeting of KP-SYS bibliography systems users
The meeting of KP-SYS bibliography systems users was held by Department of Historical Bibliography of the Institute of History, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and by KP-SYS company on November 16, 2016. The guest of this year's meeting, Mgr. Eva Uzlová, head of the Library of the National Archives, presented the library and its collections. PhDr. Václava Horčáková and Ing. Petr Štefan then presented the Union catalogue Bibliography of the Czech and Slovak historiography, which allows access to the database Bibliography of the History of the Czech lands, Bibliography of the History of Slovakia and Bibliography of the Czech archival science and enables their common search. Another guest, Mgr. et Mgr. Zuzana Teplíková from companies Citace.com, presented citation and their use in library systems. The representatives of company KP-SYS Ing. Petr Štefan, Ing. Jan Pachol and Ing. Tomáš Krejzek introduced then news in Verbis and Portaro systems. This was mainly the news in cataloging and lending module. In the afternoon Ing. Jan Kaňka presented project Knihovny.cz. This was followed by discussions of users and the outlook for 2017 then finished working meeting.
Open Day
On November 8, 2016 the Open Day was held in the Institute of History of the CAS. Mgr. Věra Hanelová presented the lecture Searching in the databases of historical bibliography or What you can’t google.

Workshop of the Czech specialist bibliographies
On October 19, 2016 the workshop of the Czech specialist bibliographies was held in the Institute of Czech Literature of the CAS in Prague. Václava Horčáková presented the contribution "Bibliography of the History of the Czech Lands" there.

Zdeněk Václav Tobolka medal
PhDr. Václava Horčáková, head of the Department of the Historical Bibliography of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic won the Zdeněk Václav Tobolka medal for a significant contribution to the Czech librarianship (awarded September 6, 2016 in Olomouc). Congratulations.
Central European Conference of Historical Geographers
From August 31 to September 2, 2016, Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague hosted the Central European Conference of Historical Geographers. Marketa Markova presented the contribution Circumitio in Medieval Central Europe at the conference.
Conference Parliamentary elections in 1946
Václava Horčáková participated in a conference called Parliamentary elections in 1946 and Czechoslovakia (context, prognosis, facts and consequences) in Brno on May 30 - June 1, 2016 and her paper dealt with the Czechoslovak parliamentary election 1946 in Czech, Slovak and European historiografy.
Visit of students of the Faculty of Arts in the Institute of History of the CAS
On April 21, 2016 the group of students of history from the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, visited the Instiute of History of the CAS. Deputy Director doc. Martin Holý introduced them to the role of the Institute in the network of public research institutions in the Czech Republic, with the inheritance of historian August Sedláček and also with the map collection. Then dr. Václava Horčáková presented activities of the Department of Historical Bibliography and its bibliographical database on the Internet.
28th Session of the Section for bibliography of the SDRUK
The Institute of History of the CAS, the Czech Association of Libraries and the Research Library in Hradec Králové organised the 28th Session of the Section for bibliography of the Association of Libraries of the Czech Republic (SDRUK) on April 5 – 6, 2016 in the Congress Hall of the Institute of History.
